Collegiate Shag, one of the swing-adjacent dances that arose in the 1920s and ’30s and enjoyed a resurgence with the Great Lindy Hop Revival of 1998. You’ll learn the six-count Shag basic pattern in both open and closed position, how to vary the six-count rhythm, and fun footwork variations.

This up-tempo step easily lends itself to switching between Lindy and Charleston patterns. Suitable for all levels.

Then this is the class for YOU! Jennifer and Arik will help you prepare for any dance at the Spanish Ballroom (and beyond) with some basic material, plus some tips and tricks to get the most out of the skills you have. Learn how to smoothly start and finish a dance, adapt basic moves to fit the music, and stretch your skills to comfortably fill a three-minute song! Appropriate for absolute beginners up to advanced beginners, as well as intermediate students who want to work on the musicality skills.
