Learn Collegiate Shag! This two-hour workshop will cover a lot of material and include practice/Q&A time as well. You’ll learn the Shag basic in both open and closed position, how to vary the six-count rhythm, and many footwork variations. Lily and David will stress the lead-and-follow mechanism of the unique rhythms of Shag; the momentum of Shag turns; and how momentum is generated so you can incorporate all the moves you know from Lindy Hop and other dances into Shag. Oh, and you’ll learn a few classic Shag patterns to boot! Suitable for all levels.
