Before the chicken came the egg. Before the swingout, triple steps, and swing, there was ’20s Charleston and the Breakaway! Learn how dancers used to dance to the chunkier New Orleans-style jazz before it morphed into syncopated rhythms and became swing jazz. Without these jazz steps, we wouldn’t have the swingout and side-by-side Charleston that we love so much.

No experience is necessary for this class–beginner and experienced dancers alike can all benefit from these fun old-time jazz steps! ALL LEVELS WELCOME.
