SATURDAY CLASSES

1-2:15pm—Tap Dance For Lindy Hoppers
Though you may not fancy yourself a tap dancer, learning tap steps is a great way to expand your footwork repertoire, develop foot speed, increase balance and coordination, and gain a deeper understanding of rhythm. Learn an entire tap routine choreographed by Rusty specifically for Lindy Hoppers that's sure to be both fun and challenging. Wear your regular dance shoes, though a shoe with a heel (versus something flat like sneakers) is recommended. All levels.

2:30-3:45pm—Listening & Dancing To The Music
If hitting the breaks in music is a mystery to you, this class is perfect! Learn about musical structure and easy techniques for hitting the breaks, whether you're a beginner or advanced dancer. Did you realize that songwriters follow a formula for composing swing songs? Once you know it, you'll have a better understanding of how to work with the music to create a more expressive dance. All levels.

4-5:15pm—1920's Partnered Charleston for Your Lindy Hop
Lindy Hop derives from 1920's Charleston, so why not put some of those fun moves back into your Lindy? It's great to flavor your dancing with some variety, and 1920's Partnered Charleston is just the ticket. Useful to insert into your Lindy Hop when the music gets fast, or as a transition on the breaks. These moves are a blast and they really help to make your dancing stand out. All levels.

1:30-2:45pm—Rhythm Club Stomp
Named after Rusty’s Rhythm Club, one of the most popular West Coast swing dance clubs, this one-chorus stroll is taken from a 1940's movie and includes great Lindy and Boogie steps. This stroll is a ton of fun and will help take your dancing to the next level by learning '30s-'40s-style movement, plus some very cool footwork! All levels.

3-4:15pm—Lead & Follow Technique
What makes a really good Lindy Hopper? Topping the list are excellent lead and follow skills. Gain an understanding of what connection is, where the connection is, how much is needed, and when. You’ll be working on all the elements that make each dance a truly pleasurable experience. All levels.
